Hello, I’m Aida – paper – scissors.
Magazines are my weakness: their typography, the images they hold, their scent, their textures and colors… Immersing myself in them, scissors in hand, has led me to my artistic habitat: uncovering the poetry within images through a language that reweaves new narratives from fragments of the past.
I explore a kaleidoscopic gaze through the analog and tactile act of cutting and pasting. Within the physical limits of paper. Within the serendipity of encountering magazines and other existing materials. Nothing is new, yet everything can be reinvented.
On this journey, we’re not alone. That’s why offering a space to other artists is also a key reason for opening this window to the world. The phrase isn’t mine, but “art is a way of survival” will feel undeniable as you wander through these pixels.
